About Our Opportunity

The Museum of Industry is seeking a Visitor Experience team member who embodies service excellence and demonstrates strong communication skills. As a key point of contact with the public, you will provide accurate and timely information to visitors from diverse backgrounds in a dynamic work environment.

Primary Accountabilities
  • Deliver high-quality interpretive programming, including tours and school programs, in Museum galleries and temporary exhibitions.
  • Maintain and operate Point of Sale (POS) systems for admissions, pass sales, and retail purchases.
  • Ensure special offers, discounts, and cash handling procedures are completed in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Orient visitors with the site and inform them of programming, events, and activities available.
  • Provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications and Experience

We are seeking an individual with Grade 12 plus three years of related experience. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be acceptable.

Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, as well as the ability to explain complex information in a clear and engaging way. Adaptability and good time management skills are also essential. Computer proficiency, basic research skills, and the ability to recall detailed historical information are necessary.

Assets for this Role
  • Training or certification in a related field (Tourism, Hospitality, History, Indigenous Studies, Museum Studies)
  • Previous cash handling experience
  • Certification in first aid and WHMIS
  • Ability to speak French or additional languages
Working Conditions

This is a part-time casual position, requiring flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays. Successful candidates must also complete vulnerable background checks.
