Job Summary:

Hire Engine is seeking a skilled Pipefitter / Valve Technician to join our team for a short-term contract in Northern Alberta. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for disassembling, inspecting, and rebuilding various valves in both field and mobile shop environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strip, assess, and re-build valves, including Ball, Globe, Choke, Check, Butterfly, Control, and Safety valves, in both workshop and site-based environments.
  • Strip, assess, and assemble valve operators.
  • Carry out pressure tests to various specifications.
  • Work safely and adhere to company safety systems, standards, or any other requirements from customers or their sites.
  • Provide safe working conditions for all workers.
  • Effectively deal with any incidents, unsafe acts, or conditions that have been reported or are liable to cause or have caused incidents.
  • Conduct regular inspections for unsafe practices and conditions and ensure prompt corrective action to eliminate causes of incidents.
  • Work in cooperation with other project supervisory personnel to determine safe practices, enforce their use, develop disciplinary procedures for dealing with violations, and develop other general safety and incident prevention measures.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with valves – Essential – minimum of 2 years.
  • Experience in a technical role in an industrial environment.
  • Experience in a previous focal point or customer support role.
  • Excellent understanding of mechanical engineering.
  • Class 5 driver's license and satisfactory driver's abstract.
  • Equipment operation experience and licensing is an advantage.
  • No restrictions to working on site. (Capable of passing pre-employment fitness and substance testing.)

Working Conditions:

This role is working on a remote production facility, and travel to and from Edmonton, as well as accommodations and per diem, will be provided for successful applicants.

Rewards:

  • In addition to a competitive wage ($26-32+/hr), plus overtime wages for all hours over 40 per week, and work 12 hours/day throughout the duration of the contract.
