Structural Managing Engineer

Hello and welcome to Design Works Engineering We are a multi-discipline engineering firm that offers a unique opportunity for a Structural Managing Engineer to join our team.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Structural Managing Engineer to lead our structural design team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating structural design projects from concept to completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate structural design projects, including preparing structural designs and drawings in accordance with best practice design and relevant codes and standards.
  • Work with project engineers to assist in coordination of drawings sets with client expectations, including architectural coordination, value engineering, and industry standard practices.
  • Use AutoCAD to prepare 2D drawing sets for construction level documents in various materials, including wood, steel, concrete, and precast products.
  • Use Revit to prepare 3D Building Information (BIM) models and export to 2D drawing sets.
  • Coordinate structural design with Architecture, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, and other project consultants under the direction of the project Engineer.
  • Visit project sites to collect required information and conduct construction reviews.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in structural engineering with a minimum of 2-5 years of experience.
  • Registered as an Engineer-in-training (E).
  • Basic design experience in wood, structural steel, and/or concrete.
  • Experience with ETABS and SAFE is considered an asset.
  • Basic knowledge in AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Fluent in English (both written and verbal).
