Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Lakeridge Health. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to our patients, while maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide respiratory care to patients, including oxygen therapy, ventilation management, and aerosol therapy.
  • Document all aspects of patient care, including treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
  • Perform diagnostic testing, such as pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gas analysis.
  • Maintain equipment, including ventilators, oxygen concentrators, and nebulizers.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities, including peer review and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure continuing education and professional development to maintain competence and stay current with best practices.
Requirements
  • Diploma in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current registration with the College of Respiratory Therapy of Ontario.
  • Current B.C.L.S. and Ontario Heart Foundation Standards certification.
  • Proven problem-solving and teaching skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Sound judgment and good observation skills.
  • Previous clinical experience, an asset.
  • Advanced educational preparation, an asset.
  • PALS and ACLS certification, preferred.
  • Satisfactory performance record.
