Project Manager Job Description

CB Canada is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a contract role with one of our clients in the financial sector.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be accountable for guiding and supporting delivery for all assigned projects, developing subject matter expertise in the business and relevant capabilities, and supporting Business Analysts/Consultants in understanding and communicating business aspirations and strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership in the delivery and execution of all phases of assigned projects from initiation to closure, managing timelines, budget, and scope for multiple concurrent projects.
  • Build collaborative relationships with project sponsors and stakeholder teams.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans that align scope, time, cost, quality, resources, and risks with ongoing monitoring of project execution for any deviations from the plan, invoking corrective action and contingency plans where necessary.
  • Motivate, engage, and focus efforts of multi-site project teams by providing clear direction, ensuring access to required tools, and removing barriers as necessary.
  • Establish effective project communications, ensuring that project delivery expectations are clearly understood and specified, and that information and updates are distributed in a timely manner to ensure stakeholder buy-in and project success.
  • Prioritize and manage own workload and the workload of project team members to deliver quality results against aggressive timelines.
  • Build and maintain detailed schedules and RAID logs, proactively managing risks/issues while effectively leveraging the change control process and escalating for support and awareness as appropriate.
  • Play a role in organizing, attending, and facilitating project workshops with diverse groups of cross-enterprise stakeholders.
  • Ensure that appropriate processes and techniques are being leveraged by project teams, identifying any necessary training or support required.
  • Ensure all projects have an appropriate level of governance and are executed with demonstrated alignment to the client's project execution standards and practices.
  • Ensure successful and seamless transition of projects to Operations and Production Support teams.

Requirements:

  • Office suite focusing on MS Project and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in Insurance.
  • Attention to detail along with the ability to be eager to learn.
  • Self-motivated and independent worker.
  • Ability to influence others and understand/represent business priorities while making decisions.
