Amico Affiliates is a leading construction company seeking a highly skilled Lead Surveyor to join our team. As a key member of our surveying department, you will be responsible for leading and managing surveying projects from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze survey data to determine the shape, contour, location, elevation, and dimensions of land features.
- Prepare detailed reports, maps, plots, and legal descriptions of surveyed areas.
- Utilize software such as AutoCAD, GIS, and other relevant tools to process and present data.
- Conduct land and property surveys, including topographic, boundary, and construction layout surveys.
- Operate and maintain surveying equipment such as total stations, GPS, and laser scanners.
- Verify the accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted on-site.
- Plan, coordinate, and manage surveying projects from inception to completion.
- Allocate resources, assign tasks to team members, and ensure project deadlines are met.
- Ensure that all surveying work complies with municipality standards & guidelines.
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and precision of survey data.
- Review and approve all survey deliverables before submission to clients or regulatory bodies.
- Lead, mentor, and supervise Amico's team of surveyors.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and procedures during fieldwork.
Key Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, or Civil Engineering Technician or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in land surveying, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Experience with Leica equipment is an asset.
- Experience using iCON field software is an asset.
- Proficiency in surveying software (e.g., Civil3D) and equipment (e.g., total stations, GPS).
- Strong understanding of surveying principles, techniques, and legal requirements in Ontario.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong mathematical skills and the ability to perform complex calculations.
- Valid driver's license.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
