Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in all stages of commissioning projects, which may involve intricate planning, scheduling, and coordination of tasks.
  • Conduct engineering design evaluations, develop commissioning scripts and reports, oversee client-site testing, and facilitate the training of on-site personnel.
  • Draft pre-start-up and start-up procedures for equipment.
  • Create standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Methods of Procedures (MOPs); ensure comprehensive commissioning documentation is maintained.
  • Formulate commissioning test protocols and reports.
  • Establish and manage commissioning logs, equipment checklists, and other tools to monitor project progress.
  • Compile detailed reports and recommendations aimed at optimizing building operations, including functional checklists, deficiency lists, and equipment operation manuals.
  • Review design specifications, drawings, equipment submissions, and other relevant documentation related to commissioning.
  • Participate in commissioning meetings and discussions.
  • Collaborate with construction contractors, vendors, and testing technicians.
  • Perform tests and compile results from all testing procedures.
  • Integrate system testing, including Load Bank Testing, and compile comprehensive testing results.
  • Develop and implement functional tests for various building MEP systems, including HVAC air and water distribution systems, air handling units, pumps, cooling towers, chillers, boilers, UPS, generators, and power distribution units.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in an engineering service delivery organization or consulting/design environment, with demonstrated expertise in MEP systems.
  • Experience in Data Center or Mission Critical environments is preferred.
  • Prior experience on a mission-critical facility construction site is advantageous.
  • A Technical/Technologist Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • Licensure as a PE or EIT in Electrical Discipline is a plus.
  • LEED AP accreditation is desirable.
  • CXA, AABC, ACG certifications are encouraged.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for this role, which involves significant documentation and client interaction.
  • High proficiency in technical writing, systems development, and utilization is required.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and AutoCAD is necessary.
  • Extensive knowledge of MEP systems and controls design, installation, and operation is beneficial.
  • This position may require domestic and potentially international travel.
  • A proven track record in commissioning planning, functional testing, building performance evaluation, including re-commissioning, retro-commissioning, and preventative maintenance for both new and existing buildings is essential.
