Job Title: Instructor of Persons with Disabilities

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Instructor of Persons with Disabilities to join our team at Toronto IBI Inc.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting students with developing life skills, collaborating with specialists to develop programs for clients' special needs, and developing individualized education and intervention plans.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist students to develop life skills, such as daily living skills, social skills, and emotional regulation.
  • Collaborate with specialists, including occupational therapists, speech therapists, and psychologists, to develop programs for clients' special needs.
  • Develop individualized education and intervention plans based on the special needs of clients to facilitate their readaptation and independence objectives.
  • Provide support and guidance to clients in a general office or counselling centre setting.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as special education, psychology, or social work.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience working with individuals with special needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with autistic children.
  • Knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder and its impact on individuals and families.
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized education and intervention plans.
