Job Summary

The City of Lloydminster is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Municipal Worker 1 to join our Building Maintenance team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest level of function for all City-owned facilities, ensuring a clean and safe environment for our citizens and employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean and service various locations throughout the building, including washrooms, dressing rooms, and office spaces.
  • Building Checks: Conduct general building checks and safety checks both internally and externally to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Materials Management: Ensure that materials are stored in a safe and orderly manner, and maintain accurate records of inventory and supplies.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Document and report any issues or concerns regarding safety, vandalism, inspections, and equipment to the Supervisor - Custodial.
  • Team Collaboration: Assist other staff and contractors as needed to ensure seamless operations and effective communication.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate small maintenance equipment and hand tools in an efficient and responsible manner, in accordance with recognized procedures.
Requirements
  • Education: A minimum Grade 12 or GED equivalency is required.
  • Experience: Previous custodial and/or building maintenance experience is an asset.
  • Certifications: Certified Custodial Technician basic and advance course considered an asset.
  • Skills: Basic computer skills, including smart phones, internet, email, Word, online forms, and electronic time sheet.
  • Physical Demands: Must be in good physical condition and able to stand for long periods of time with bending and reaching motions. The position includes some lifting up to 25 kg/40 lbs.
  • Security Clearance: Applicants are subject to a basic security check and clearance prior to the position start date.
