Key Responsibilities
  • Load and Unload Goods: Safely load and unload goods from vehicles, ensuring that all cargo is properly secured and accounted for.
  • Obtain Special Permits: Obtain any necessary special permits and documents required to transport cargo on international routes.
  • Operate Vehicles: Operate straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain the condition of vehicles, including tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
  • Pre-Trip and Post-Trip Inspections: Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure that vehicles are safe and roadworthy.
  • Communication: Receive and relay information to central dispatch, ensuring that all parties are informed of any issues or delays.
  • Record Keeping: Accurately record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required for this position.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field is preferred.
  • Language: Fluency in English or French is required.
  • Work Hours: 40 to 60 hours per week, with a permanent work term.
