Ocean Freight Coordinator

Our client, a growing international freight forwarding company, is seeking a dynamic Logistics Coordinator to join their team to handle mostly ocean imports and some exports.
This role offers the opportunity to be part of a smaller team where the days pass quickly, and you'll be involved in more day-to-day actions. Responsibilities- Arrange ocean transportation and facilitate the movement of goods based on customer demands.
- Ensure accuracy on shipments and minimize the risk of delay.
- Provide and track quotations of services to our customers.
- Advise clients on transportation and payment methods, including the issuance of freight bills and invoices to brokers and/or customers.
- Filing of invoices, orders, PODs, and collect payments for the same.
- Track and trace vendor orders and report any anomalies.
- Collect, audit, and accurately enter carrier qualification information.
- Arrange 'white glove' services for customers, ensuring proper unpacking, packing, transportation of sensitive equipment.
- Coordinate pickup and delivery orders with carriers.
- Prompt and accurate communication with customers and carriers.
- 1+ years of experience in logistics, ocean imports.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written), French an asset.
- Knowledge of North American Carrier Network and cross-border shipping requirements an asset.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Experience with CargoWise is considered an asset.
- Strong organization skills, communication, problem-solving, decision-making, teamwork, and analytical skills.
