Job Overview:

The Financial Insights Analyst within the Enterprise Stress Testing division, focusing on Treasury and Balance Sheet Management, will be tasked with utilizing models to project Pre-Provision Net Revenue (PPNR) for the wholesale banking sector. This includes both trading and non-trading operations such as Corporate and Investment Banking. The financial models are primarily designed for stress testing to aid the Bank's capital planning and assessment procedures. Model development will adhere to TD's established standards, policies, and protocols.

Stress testing plays a vital role in the Bank's risk management framework, enhancing its capability to navigate stress scenarios and evaluate its capital adequacy. It demonstrates TD's resilience in enduring significant market pressures while continuing to serve customers. We engage in Enterprise-wide Stress Testing (EWST), Dodd-Frank Act Stress Tests (DFAST), Macro-economic Stress Testing (MST), and other enterprise or region-specific initiatives.

This position demands a solid foundation in statistical principles, financial analysis competencies, and an understanding of wholesale banking operations. The role involves collaboration with various partners and stakeholders across the Bank, including the line of business (LOB), finance, risk, and governance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the execution of stress testing models in accordance with the established playbook.
  • Analyze outcomes and assess the reasonableness and intuition behind the results.
  • Aggregate results and conduct reconciliation and control exercises.
  • Create presentation materials and narratives to derive business insights.
  • Present findings for review and endorsement by LOB and senior management of wholesale operations and challenge function groups.
  • Implement all necessary control procedures and uphold a robust control environment for stress testing processes based on program requirements and standards.
  • Develop aggregation models or processes as needed, including requisite documentation.
  • Lead or assist in projects aimed at investigating issues and identifying solutions.
  • Continuously seek improvements and automation within processes.
  • Support governance activities as required.
  • Engage in ad hoc initiatives or projects as necessary.

Qualifications / Skills / Experience:

  • Proven ability to communicate complex issues and financial analyses to a diverse audience.
  • Proficiency in quantitative analysis tools and methodologies.
  • Capability to manage deadlines, handle multiple tasks, and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Curiosity and analytical mindset to quickly grasp new concepts.
  • Familiarity with SAS and/or Python.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Experience supporting wholesale businesses and knowledge of wholesale products and processes.
  • Strong accounting or finance background, with the ability to interpret balance sheets and income statements.
  • Knowledge of wholesale stress testing processes is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team, provide training, and foster a positive work environment.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience.
