Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Exercise Specialist to join our team at Fraser Health. As a key member of our cardiac rehabilitation team, you will play a vital role in helping patients recover from heart conditions and improve their overall health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and evaluate patient's functional status and risk factors to develop an individualized exercise plan
  • Coordinate exercise schedules and plan and conduct exercise sessions using case management techniques
  • Assess patient's symptoms and responses to activities, monitoring for cardiac arrhythmias and ECG abnormalities
  • Modify patient's exercise prescription as needed and respond to complications such as fainting or heart attack during exercise
  • Counsel patients and their families on lifestyle changes, active living, and the principles of training
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and community to provide comprehensive patient care
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Physical Education, Sports Medicine, or Physiology
  • Two years' recent related clinical experience in a cardiac rehabilitation environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Certification with American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM)-Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist (CCEP), current CPR Level 'C' certification, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
