Job Summary

As a Cardiac Exercise Specialist with Fraser Health, you will play a key role in the planning, coordination, and evaluation of patient exercise services in a cardiac rehabilitation environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and evaluate patient's functional status and risk factors to develop an individual care plan.
  • Coordinate exercise schedules for patients and plan and conduct exercise sessions using case management techniques.
  • Assess patient's symptoms and responses to activities, monitoring for cardiac arrhythmias, ECG abnormalities, and medication effects.
  • Modify patient's exercise prescription as appropriate and respond to patient complications.
  • Counsel patients and their families regarding lifestyle changes and active living exercise program guidelines.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Physical Education, Sports Medicine, or Physiology.
  • Two years' recent related clinical experience in a cardiac rehabilitation environment or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Certification with the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) as a Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist (CCEP).
