Job Title: Coherent Optical Systems Engineer

We are seeking a talented Coherent Optical Systems Engineer to join our Optical Systems Group (OSG) and contribute to the design, characterization, and development of leading coherent optical transceivers.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop next-generation coherent optical transceivers using Infinera's PIC and DSP technologies.
  • Perform digital-optical integration and develop robust calibration and controls methodologies.
  • Characterize transceiver performance, including SNR, OSNR tolerance, and sensitivity studies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and optimize system-level performance.
Requirements:
  • Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or Applied Physics with experience in optical communications, photonics, or high-speed electronics.
  • Fundamental understanding of optical communication systems, DWDM transmission systems, and photonic integrated components.
  • Hands-on experience with system-level optical communication hardware and components.
  • Extensive understanding of coherent communications systems, including QPSK, 16QAM, and 64QAM.
