Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Residential Support Worker to join our team at Grand Council Treaty #3. As a key member of our Indian Residential School (IRS) program, you will play a vital role in supporting the mental health and well-being of Intergenerational survivors and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide mental health and cultural support referrals to clients
  • Conduct intake and provide information on available resources
  • Offer emotional support at cultural gatherings, training sessions, and ceremonies
  • Analyze statistical data and prepare IRS updates, reports, and position papers
  • Organize and facilitate meetings, workshops, and information sessions
  • Liaise with First Nation members, communities, and other stakeholders
Requirements
  • Post-secondary diploma in Native Studies or related field
  • Experience in sharing Anishinaabe culture and tradition
  • Proficient use of office-based software and online video-conferencing platforms
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
  • Anishinaabe background
  • Fluency in Anishinaabemowin
  • Experience communicating and building relationships with Treaty 3 communities
