Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Rehabilitation Assistant - Allied Health to join our team at Sault Area Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in supporting the rehabilitation process for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist physiotherapists with exercise and walking programs, as well as therapy activities, to enhance patient endurance and tolerance.
  • Participate in group therapy sessions and facilitate education to patients as assigned by the physiotherapist.
  • Perform routine range of motion exercises and prepare and apply treatments under the direct supervision of the physiotherapist.
  • Record and enter workload units in software and maintain medical records of treatment provided.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of equipment and work areas, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • Diploma in Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy Assistant.
  • Minimum of 2 years of practical physiotherapy experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to instruct patients on the use of assistive devices and knowledge of range of motion exercises.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
