Role Overview: Business Intelligence Analyst
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Business Intelligence and Analytics, you will leverage your analytical skills to transform business challenges into technical solutions. Proficiency in SQL and BI tools is essential for this role.
Daily Responsibilities Include:
- Engaging in the full BI lifecycle, from gathering business requirements to data discovery, identifying data relationships, and assisting in data model design and end-user report creation.
- Utilizing technical expertise in Business Intelligence for data mining and verification across various source systems.
- Analyzing intricate data sets to identify trends and derive actionable insights for the business.
- Defining, designing, developing, and documenting operational KPIs to support and monitor strategic objectives.
- Collaborating with tools such as IBM Cognos Analytics, SQL Server Management Studio, Power BI, and Excel to assess and interpret performance metrics.
- Crafting data visualizations using all available Business Intelligence tools to effectively communicate findings.
- Applying analytical skills and business insight to interpret results and present solutions to leadership.
- Uncovering new insights through innovative experimentation.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience in the insurance sector is advantageous but not mandatory.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience as a BI Analyst.
- Familiarity with analytical methodologies and techniques.
- Strong SQL skills for data extraction and manipulation.
- Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as IBM Cognos Analytics and Power BI.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.
- Proven verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with both Business and IT teams.
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field is preferred.
Work Schedule: 37.5 hours per week
Remote Work: This position is remote within Canada.
