Role Overview: Business Intelligence Analyst
Reporting directly to the Senior Manager of Business Intelligence and Analytics, you will leverage your analytical prowess to translate business challenges into technical solutions. Your expertise in SQL and BI tools will be crucial in this role.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Engage in the comprehensive BI Lifecycle, encompassing the collection of business requirements, data exploration, identifying data relationships, and contributing to data model design and user report generation.
- Utilize technical Business Intelligence capabilities for data mining and validation across various source systems.
- Examine intricate data sets to uncover trends and insights, transforming them into actionable information for the organization.
- Define, design, develop, and document operational KPIs to facilitate the monitoring of strategic objectives.
- Collaborate with tools such as IBM Cognos Analytics, SQL Server Management Studio, Power BI, and Excel to assess performance against expectations.
- Develop data visualizations using available Business Intelligence tools to effectively communicate findings.
- Employ analytical skills, business insight, and storytelling techniques to interpret results and present solutions to leadership.
- Explore new insights through innovative experimentation.
Qualifications:
- Experience in the insurance industry is advantageous but not mandatory.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience as a BI Analyst.
- Familiarity with analytical methodologies and techniques.
- Proficient in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
- Experience with business intelligence tools, including IBM Cognos Analytics and Power BI.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with both Business and IT teams.
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline is preferred.
Work Hours: 37.5 hours per week
