Role Overview: Business Intelligence Analyst
Reporting directly to the Senior Manager of Business Intelligence and Analytics, you will leverage your analytical skills to translate business challenges into technical solutions. Your expertise in SQL and BI tools will be essential in driving data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in the full Business Intelligence lifecycle, including gathering business requirements, conducting data exploration, identifying data relationships, and assisting in data model design and report generation.
- Utilize technical Business Intelligence expertise for data mining and validation across various source systems.
- Analyze intricate datasets to uncover trends and insights, transforming them into actionable information for the organization.
- Define, design, develop, and document operational KPIs to support and track strategic objectives.
- Collaborate with tools such as IBM Cognos Analytics, SQL Server Management Studio, Power BI, and Excel to assess performance metrics and identify areas needing attention.
- Create compelling data visualizations using available Business Intelligence tools to effectively communicate findings.
- Employ analytical thinking, business insight, and storytelling skills to interpret results and present solutions to leadership.
- Discover new insights through innovative experimentation.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience in the insurance industry is advantageous but not mandatory.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience as a Business Intelligence Analyst.
- Familiarity with analytical methodologies and techniques.
- Proficient in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
- Experience with Business Intelligence tools, including IBM Cognos Analytics and Power BI.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of interfacing with both Business and IT teams.
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field is preferred.
