Position Overview

The Rehabilitation Physiotherapist is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients presenting with various physical impairments, pain, functional limitations, or disabilities within a healthcare environment. This role involves conducting thorough medical history evaluations and performing specific diagnostic tests to establish a physical diagnosis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement holistic treatment plans utilizing exercises, education, and various therapeutic techniques including manual, mechanical, electrical, and hydrotherapy methods to aid patients in achieving optimal functional levels.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, communicating effectively with healthcare professionals, patients, and their families regarding health promotion and treatment strategies.
  • Supervise and mentor physiotherapy students and assistants, ensuring quality care and educational growth.
  • Participate in team evaluations, setting objectives, and problem-solving to enhance patient care delivery.

Qualifications

  • A Master's or Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited institution.
  • Current membership or eligibility for membership with the relevant professional regulatory body.
  • Proficient in computer applications related to health records and data management.
  • Certification in Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation (BCLS) and training in Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS).
  • Additional training in specialized physiotherapy practices is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Competency in multiple languages is considered an asset, with preference for French.

Work Schedule

  • This is a part-time, long-term assignment requiring approximately 52.5 hours bi-weekly.
  • The anticipated duration of this position is around 19 months.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly wage for this position is competitive, and successful candidates may qualify for a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance, along with a defined benefit pension plan.
