This role involves skilled technical work in managing the City's multimedia computer infrastructure. Under the guidance of a supervisor, the incumbent will engage in tasks related to the ongoing procurement, configuration, deployment, support, and maintenance of multimedia systems, including audio-visual equipment, video conferencing tools, digital signage, and municipal meeting management software. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Monitoring and assessing system and infrastructure performance, implementing changes to enhance efficiency.
  2. Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and operating system issues impacting audio and video quality.
  3. Collaborating with vendor representatives and various business departments.
  4. Proposing enhancements and optimizations for multimedia equipment.
  5. Researching, evaluating, and recommending multimedia hardware and software purchases.
  6. Coordinating the installation of multimedia systems.
  7. Documenting requirements and delivering presentations on technological issues, proposals, and projects to internal staff.
  8. Providing guidance, support, and training to users and departmental staff on technical matters, including assistance during live public meetings.

Qualifications include graduation from a technology institute with a diploma in computer systems technologies, focusing on communications and network systems, along with substantial related experience in infrastructure management (specifically multimedia), or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Candidates should possess considerable knowledge of multimedia, AV, and meeting room technologies, as well as hardware platforms and configuration options. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to evaluate multimedia application software are essential. Effective communication skills, both oral and written, are required, along with the ability to foster productive working relationships with diverse staff and external contacts. A valid Driver's License for the Province of British Columbia is necessary.

Schedule: 70 hours bi-weekly; Monday & Thursday from 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM; Tuesday from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Wednesday & Friday from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
