Department Operations Manager

Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated individual to oversee the operations of a specific department within our retail environment. This role is crucial in ensuring that our department not only meets but exceeds sales and profitability targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operations of the assigned department, ensuring optimal performance.
- Achieve and surpass sales and profit objectives.
- Train and mentor department staff in customer engagement, product expertise, and merchandising techniques.
- Ensure proper stocking, presentation, and pricing of merchandise.
- Monitor stock levels and collaborate with other departments for timely inventory replenishment.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for both customers and employees.
- Oversee departmental expenditures and assist in budget formulation.
- Communicate consistently with store leadership and fellow department managers to align on store-wide objectives.
- Identify and recruit talented individuals to enhance our team.
- Inspire, coach, and motivate team members to boost productivity and retention.
- Uphold high standards in merchandising and operational practices.
- Foster a diverse and inclusive workplace culture.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college education is preferred.
- Prior experience in retail management, ideally in a departmental or specialty retail setting.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal abilities to inspire and develop team members.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
- Basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with Microsoft Office.
- Understanding of retail operations, including merchandising, inventory control, and customer service.
- Physical capability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
