About the Role

The Environmental Student is a key member of the Environment and Regulatory team at the Cold Lake Operations site. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and approvals, and supporting the implementation of the company's environmental strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement environmental standards and manage systems for the site.
  • Work with geospatial data to ensure accurate and timely environmental performance reporting.
  • Maintain site documentation of overview and detailed regulatory compliance directories.
  • Manage environmental protection and regulatory compliance efforts at the site.
  • Conduct routine environmental field sampling and inspections.
  • Provide ongoing technical support to the operating unit on environmental issues.
  • Support the development, implementation, and surveillance of compliance programs, including plans, procedures, and training.
  • Lead and complete specific environmental management projects or improvement opportunities.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have a strong academic background in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or a related field. You will also have demonstrated leadership and strong academic skills. Preferred qualifications include ArcGIS skills, proficiency with computer-based data management programs, and strong oral and written communication skills.
