Job Title: Industrial Millwright - WPCP

Job Summary:

The Corporation of the City of Thunder Bay is seeking a skilled Industrial Millwright to join our team at the Water Pollution Control Plant (WPCP). As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of industrial equipment, buildings, and grounds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on industrial equipment, including pumps, motors, and controls.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance tasks to ensure optimal equipment performance and extend lifespan.
  • Identify and report equipment wear, abnormalities, and breakdowns to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Repair or replace equipment or parts as needed, and recommend improvements for plant equipment.
  • Perform general building and grounds repairs as required.
  • Obtain necessary parts, supplies, and tools from inventory, and be accountable for their return or assignment to work orders.

Requirements:

  • Journeyman Certification as a millwright.
  • Proven practical experience in the operation and maintenance of industrial pumps, motors up to 800 HP, and controls.
  • Proficiency in welding, soldering, pipefitting, and tool maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering, construction, and mechanical drawings.
  • Capacity to issue and accurately comprehend written or oral information and instructions.
