We are seeking a highly skilled Family Medicine Emergency Physician to join our medical team at Fisherman's Memorial Hospital in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in our Emergency Department, which is open from 7:30 am to 11:30 pm daily.
Key Responsibilities:
- Examine patients and take their histories
- Order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures
- Advise patients on health care, health promotion, and disease prevention
- Consult and refer to other medical practitioners
- Act as a patient advocate
- Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, inoculations and vaccinations
Requirements:
- Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia
- Membership with the College of Family Physicians of Canada
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association
- Current PALS Certification
- Current ATLS Certification
- College of Family Physicians of Canada ER certification considered an asset
