Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital (FMH) is an acute care community hospital that opened its doors to patients in 1952. The hospital is well-equipped with basic diagnostic and treatment services: Point of Care lab testing, X-ray on site; other more extensive investigatory and consultant services at South Shore Regional Hospital 25 km away. In addition, Ambulatory Care has many itinerant consultant clinics with occasional consultant availablity for urgent cases.
