Construction Cost Analyst

Educational Background: College, CEGEP or equivalent non-university diploma or certificate from a program lasting 1 to 2 years
Required Experience: 2 to less than 3 years or equivalent experience
Work Environment and Estimation Responsibilities- Develop detailed estimates for labor and material costs
- Create pre-qualification submissions for prospective clients
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ascertain project requirements
- Generate master format estimates (Class A)
- Create elemental format estimates (Classes B, C, D)
- Calculate estimates for general expenses and overheads
- Forecast project cash flow and financing needs
- Compile and present estimate reports, quote sheets, and bid forms
- Employ quantity take-off techniques
- Provide guidance on tendering processes
- Evaluate tenders and make award recommendations
- Collaborate and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors regarding modifications to cost estimates
- Read and analyze blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications
