About the Opportunity

Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a highly skilled and experienced medical professional to fill the role of Specialty Site Lead for Colchester East Hants Health Centre in the Northern Zone. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a high standard of patient care is maintained by the medical staff, in accordance with the law, the Bylaws, the Rules and Regulations, licensing and accreditation standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure medical staff compliance with NSHA Bylaws and Rules and Regulations.
  • Represent the Department Medical Staff at the applicable site to the Zone Executive Director and/or Zone Department Head.
  • Serve as Physician Lead for Emergency Preparedness activities.
  • Manage site overcapacity issues from the Department's perspective.
  • Ensure service continuity through Department scheduling practices.
  • Chair regular department meetings and attend other committee meetings as required.
  • Participate in monitoring standards, quality, and utilization of resources of the Department.
  • Participate in clinical services planning for the Department.
  • Participate in respectful workplace responsibilities.
  • Participate in recruitment/retention activities for the Department.
  • Participate in new hire and onboarding processes.
  • Lead the incident review process for the site.
Eligibility

MD licensed in Nova Scotia and privileged with Nova Scotia Health. Evidence of past and ongoing leadership training.

Annual Compensation

$5, – $10, (individual compensation will be set based on previous experience)
