About This Opportunity

Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a Specialty Site Lead to join our team at Colchester East Hants Health Centre in the Northern Zone. As a Specialty Site Lead, you will be accountable to the Zone Medical Executive Director and will work closely with local physicians to ensure high standards of patient care are maintained.

Responsibilities
  1. Ensure medical staff compliance with NSHA Bylaws and Rules and Regulations.
  2. Bring forward issues and perspectives of Department Medical Staff to the Zone Executive Director and/or Zone Department Head for consideration and/or resolution.
  3. Serve as Physician Lead for Emergency Preparedness activities.
  4. Assist in managing site overcapacity issues from Department's perspective.
  5. Ensure service continuity through Department scheduling practices.
  6. Chair regular department meetings and attend other committee meetings as required.
  7. Participate in monitoring standards, quality, and utilization of resources of the Department.
  8. Participate in clinical services planning for the Department.
  9. Participate in respectful workplace responsibilities as needed.
  10. Participate in recruitment/retention activities for the Department.
  11. Participate in new hire and onboarding processes as needed.
  12. Lead the incident review process for the site.
Qualifications
  • MD licensed in Nova Scotia and privileged with Nova Scotia Health. Evidence of past and ongoing leadership training.
