About the Opportunity

Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a Specialty Site Lead to join our team at Colchester East Hants Health Centre in the Northern Zone. As a Specialty Site Lead, you will be accountable to the Zone Medical Executive Director and will work closely with local physicians to ensure high-quality patient care. Your role will involve ensuring compliance with NSHA bylaws and regulations, bringing forward issues and perspectives of department medical staff, and participating in quality and patient safety initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure medical staff compliance with NSHA bylaws and regulations
  • Represent department medical staff interests at the Zone Executive Director and/or Zone Department Head level
  • Lead Emergency Preparedness activities
  • Manage site overcapacity issues from a departmental perspective
  • Ensure service continuity through department scheduling practices
  • Chair department meetings and attend committee meetings as required
  • Participate in monitoring standards, quality, and resource utilization of the department
  • Participate in clinical services planning for the department
  • Participate in respectful workplace responsibilities
  • Participate in recruitment and retention activities
  • Participate in new hire and onboarding processes
  • Lead incident review process for the site
Eligibility

MD licensed in Nova Scotia and privileged with Nova Scotia Health. Evidence of past and ongoing leadership training.

Annual Compensation

$5, – $10, (individual compensation will be set based on previous experience)
