The Automotive Market Strategist for Acura plays a pivotal role in delivering analytical support, insights, and strategic proposals related to designated vehicle lines. This position is essential for understanding competitive dynamics, industry trends, and identifying potential risks and opportunities to meet Acura's sales objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the automotive sales landscape and competitor activities, utilizing various data sources to draw insightful conclusions.
  • Formulate recommendations for sales incentive programs aimed at achieving market share and sales targets.
  • Conduct monthly analyses of model performance to uncover opportunities and devise strategic countermeasures.
  • Prepare for monthly program discussions by evaluating sales performance and inventory turnover, incorporating market demand insights, historical data, and forecasting methodologies for assigned models.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales and Production Planning teams to ensure effective product ordering and allocation to the dealer network.
  • Oversee and update monthly reports on competitor payments and in-market offers.
  • Develop sales strategies for new models in collaboration with key stakeholders, including risk assessments related to price adjustments and product launches.
  • Design, implement, and assess CRM sales campaign initiatives, documenting insights and applying corrective actions as necessary.
  • Maintain and manage departmental sales reporting metrics.
  • Process requests related to dealer exceptions and payments as needed.
  • Fulfill additional departmental responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

  • A post-secondary degree is mandatory.
  • 1-2 years of experience in the automotive sector is preferred.
  • Strong planning and organizational capabilities are essential.
  • Must be adaptable and thrive in a fast-paced team environment with competing priorities.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities are required.
  • Proven ability to foster collaborative relationships with a focus on achieving results.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (including vlookups and pivot tables) is necessary.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain effective working relationships within Honda North America and with various stakeholders.
  • Enjoys a team-oriented management approach and values shared achievements.
