POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated Sustainability Assessment Specialist to be part of a vibrant team focused on conducting comprehensive Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) and developing innovative sustainability metrics for various sectors.

In this role, you will be responsible for executing LCAs and greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories across multiple scopes. Utilizing OPTEL's Intelligent Supply Chain Platform, you will lead and support LCA initiatives aimed at minimizing the environmental impact of products, enabling clients to make informed and sustainable supply chain decisions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

For products with digitized supply chains:

  • Perform and assist with LCA-related activities;
  • Incorporate LCA data collection and findings into OPTEL's traceability solutions;
  • Conduct and support corporate GHG inventory assessments;
  • Develop Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs);
  • Ensure adherence to applicable LCA and GHG reporting standards;
  • Draft technical documentation;
  • Engage with clients to understand their requirements;
  • Present insights from OPTEL's Intelligent Supply Chain platform to stakeholders;
  • Contribute to the enhancement of OPTEL's traceability solutions for tracking product carbon emissions.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent postgraduate qualification) in engineering, environmental sciences, or sustainable development;
  • High level of autonomy and a strong focus on delivery;
  • Experience in technical and client-facing roles;
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both English and French;
  • Alignment with OPTEL's values, priorities, and culture;
  • Strong adaptability and eagerness to learn about new topics;
  • Practical knowledge of LCA software tools (SimaPro, openLCA, GaBi) and relevant databases;
  • Passion for sustainability and life cycle assessment methodologies.
