About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Bakery Specialist to join our team at Aba's Bagel Company. As a key member of our bakery team, you will be responsible for preparing and baking a variety of breads, pastries, and other sweet and savory goods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation and Baking: Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls, and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies, and cakes, and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders.
  • Bakery Operations: Bake mixed dough and batters, train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, and prepare special orders.
  • Inventory Management: Organize and maintain inventory, oversee sales and merchandising of baked goods, and inspect kitchen and food service areas.
  • Supervision: Supervise 1 to 2 people in the bakery department.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Work Setting: Bake shop, café, coffee shop, or restaurant.
  • Physical Demands: Fast-paced environment, physically demanding, repetitive tasks, and standing for extended periods.
  • Personal Suitability: Dependability, excellent oral communication, judgement, reliability, and team player.
