Job Title: Senior Utilities Designer

Parsons Corporation is seeking an experienced Senior Utilities Designer to join our Critical Infrastructure team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in designing and delivering complex infrastructure projects that connect and protect communities around the world.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Senior Utilities Designer to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in utilities design and coordination, with experience in working on complex infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and coordinate temporary and permanent utility relocations/installations for infrastructure projects
  • Participate in negotiations with Utility Asset Owners for relocating/installing utilities affected/required by capital, operations, and expansion projects construction
  • Develop contractual strategies to facilitate utility relocations and/or the integration of utility work into construction contracts
  • Assist in the technical review of project designs with respect to utility-related issues to ensure compliance with Utility Asset Owner and/or Utility Authority design criteria and applicable specifications and standards
  • Advises project staff of what issues require resolution within the construction contracts to ensure full coordination and compliance with standing agreements and/or standards with Utility Asset Owners
Requirements:
  • Completion of a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a related discipline (civil engineering specializing in municipal services)
  • Extensive, relevant engineering design/construction experience in a multidisciplinary design environment where detailed drawings and specifications specific to utilities design are produced
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
