Job Title: Senior Utilities Designer

Parsons is seeking an experienced Senior Utilities Designer to join our Critical Infrastructure team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in designing and coordinating utility relocations and installations for complex infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical review and design coordination of temporary or permanent relocations/installations of utilities, including natural gas, electricity, water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and cable television.
  • Participate in negotiations with Utility Asset Owners for relocating/installing utilities affected/required by capital, operations, and expansion projects construction.
  • Develop contractual strategies to facilitate utility relocations and/or the integration of utility work into construction contracts.
  • Assist in the technical review of project designs with respect to utility-related issues to ensure compliance with Utility Asset Owner and/or Utility Authority design criteria and applicable specifications and standards.
  • Advises project staff on issues requiring resolution within construction contracts to ensure full coordination and compliance with standing agreements and/or standards with Utility Asset Owners.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a related discipline (civil engineering specializing in municipal services).
  • Extensive, relevant engineering design/construction experience in a multidisciplinary design environment where detailed drawings and specifications specific to utilities design are produced.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
