Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed estimates of labour and material costs for construction projects. This will involve reading blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements, preparing pre-qualification submissions, and creating estimate reports and quote sheets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare estimates of labour and material costs for construction projects
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements
  • Prepare pre-qualification submissions to present to clients
  • Create and submit estimate reports, quote sheets, and bid forms
  • Advise on tendering procedures and monitor and adjust contract expenditures
  • Liaise with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
Requirements
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in construction estimating
  • Computer and technology knowledge, including estimating packages, database, and spreadsheet software
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
