Assistant Professor of Teaching and Education

The University of British Columbia is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill a tenure track position as an Assistant Professor of Teaching and Education in the School of Biomedical Engineering. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated educator to join our vibrant and growing community of scholars and contribute to the development of innovative curriculum and pedagogical approaches.
Key Responsibilities- Teach a range of Biomedical Engineering subject areas at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, commensurate with expertise.
- Develop and implement new undergraduate and graduate courses in a structured, course-based Master's program.
- Lead the development and implementation of short-duration, competency-based learning opportunities within micro-credentials and certificates.
- Collaborate with other programs and departments to bring forward strategic initiatives for the School and the Faculties.
- Contribute to fostering an environment that promotes inclusivity and embodies values of respect, integrity, compassion, collaboration, and equity.
- Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, or a related area.
- Experience teaching biomedical engineering or bioengineering at a post-secondary level.
- Evidence of being able to integrate engineering and biological fundamentals in course development and delivery.
- Canadian professional engineering (P.Eng.) licence or eligibility to obtain a PEng.
- Demonstrated evidence of ability and commitment to teaching, and promise of educational leadership.
- Experience in collaborating and bringing forward projects with diverse groups, including colleagues, students, and/or stakeholders.
- A competitive salary range of $120,000 to $130,000 per annum.
