About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Governance Professional to join our team at Bell Canada. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for owning the Data Governance framework, building required data practices, and collaborating with business data teams to create a governance forum for ideating practices and tracking deliverables.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a data governance framework, defining policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines for data management, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Design and develop data management processes, creating and maintaining processes for data collection, storage, access, usage, and disposal, ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance.
  • Champion data quality, establishing and enforcing data quality standards, implementing data quality monitoring mechanisms, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Promote data literacy, educating and training employees on data governance principles, policies, and best practices, fostering a data-driven culture within the organization.
  • Work closely with business units, IT teams, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective implementation of data governance initiatives.
  • Regularly monitor data governance compliance, identify potential risks and vulnerabilities, and implement corrective actions.
  • Keep abreast of emerging data governance best practices, regulations, and technologies, and adapt the framework accordingly.
  • Contribute to data strategy, participating in the development and implementation of the organization's overall data strategy, ensuring data governance aligns with business objectives.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in data governance, data management, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of data governance principles, policies, and best practices.
  • Experience in designing and developing data management processes.
  • Expertise in data quality management and assurance.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business administration, or a related field.
  • Working technical knowledge of the Collibra Data catalog platform.
  • Experience with rolling out a Dataplex instance that was supporting multitenancy, in a data mesh development lifecycle for GCP.
  • Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
