Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a Family Physician with Certificates of Added Competencies (CACs) in Care of the Elderly (COE) to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to enhance the healthcare experience for senior patients. The successful candidate will be a proactive community advocate dedicated to advancing the quality of care for older adults.
This position entails delivering comprehensive medical services across diverse environments, including hospitals, residential homes, long-term care institutions, and assisted living facilities. The physician will engage closely with the senior care team and partner with Geriatricians from the Western Zone.
The Annapolis Valley is home to several community hospitals that provide a variety of services, including ambulatory care, cardiovascular care, mental health support, and addiction services.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver specialized medical care for elderly patients
- Facilitate peer education and provide expert consultation
- Lead collaborative healthcare teams
- Champion health education initiatives
- Engage in research focused on geriatric healthcare
- Full-time, permanent position
- Eligibility for Licensure with the (CPSNS)
