About the Role

As an Educational Resource Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse learning needs within our dynamic educational environment. Your dedication to fostering inclusive classrooms and empowering students will be instrumental in their academic growth and personal development.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique requirements.
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students in various academic subjects, utilizing a range of teaching strategies and resources.
  • Create a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages student engagement, participation, and success.
  • Assess student progress regularly and provide feedback to teachers, parents, and administrators.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student performance and interventions.

Qualifications:

We are seeking dedicated individuals with a passion for education and a commitment to supporting students with diverse learning needs.

Category 3 (Certified):

  • Hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Educational Assistant (EA), or equivalent as determined by the Employer.
  • May be required to complete training in CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, and/or other emergency techniques.

Category 1 (Uncertified):

  • Possess a Secondary school diploma with foundational knowledge of Early Childhood Education (ECE) (EA) practices.
  • One year of experience working with students with diverse learning needs is preferred.
  • May be required to complete training in CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, and/or other emergency techniques.

Essential Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students of varying abilities and learning styles.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Collaborative team player with a willingness to contribute to a supportive work environment.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in responding to changing needs and priorities.
  • High degree of sensitivity and diplomacy when interacting with students and families.
  • Proficiency in using computer technology and communication tools as appropriate.
  • Ability to manage potentially stressful situations effectively.
