ROLE OVERVIEW

The Senior Data Scientist will play a pivotal role in advancing Artificial Intelligence-driven sensing technologies tailored for the food and agriculture industries. This individual will immediately engage in the creation and execution of AI Platforms that leverage a variety of machine learning techniques. The design of machine learning algorithms will encompass, but not be limited to, artificial neural networks, deep learning, self-learning systems, and support vector machines (SVMs) for diverse client applications. Additionally, the Senior Data Scientist should possess knowledge of data processing techniques, including image analysis, signal processing, and pattern recognition.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contribute to the development of Savormetrics' AI Platform.
  • Lead the creation of machine learning algorithms, including artificial neural networks, deep learning, self-learning systems, and SVMs for various client applications.
  • Engage in the development of feature engineering methodologies.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of analytical software solutions for clients.
  • Participate in the design and execution of data collection and interpretation software solutions.
  • Comprehend overall client product requirements and their implications for AI training and predictive design.
  • Utilize research and client datasets to devise new algorithms aimed at enhancing accuracy and efficiency for hardware devices.
  • Organize, manage, and analyze extensive datasets for research and product development.
  • Ensure the appropriate software platforms are employed to optimize hardware performance, aligning with client needs.
  • Gain a deep understanding of client requirements and swiftly develop advanced domain knowledge of targeted business sectors.
  • Design, execute, and report on commercial testing initiatives.
  • Support the development and participation in workshops, conferences, and other events, collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide secondary support for client-related issues.
  • Collaborate effectively with all team members.
  • Fulfill additional work-related responsibilities as assigned.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • A Master’s or PhD degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of practical industry experience in machine learning, artificial neural networks, deep learning, statistical learning, pattern recognition, and image processing for information extraction and interpretation.
  • Familiarity with image processing techniques is essential.
  • Experience with software/hardware interfacing is advantageous.
  • Background in optics or scientific instrumentation is beneficial.
