We are Edmonton's premier destination management and marketing organization, responsible for promoting the city as a year-round destination for visitors, workers, and residents. Our team manages two award-winning venues, the Edmonton Convention Centre and the Edmonton EXPO Centre, which welcome over 1.8 million visitors annually.

About the Position

We are seeking a part-time Custodial Supervisor to join our team at the Edmonton Convention Centre. Reporting to the Manager, Building Services, this role is responsible for supervising the Building Services team and ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and maintenance are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Manager, Building Services, in preparing and distributing daily assignments.
  • Coach team members on new tasks and identify areas for improvement.
  • Oversee the team and ensure standards are being met.
  • Retrieve daily updates and event information from our online booking system.
  • Enter and track work orders for equipment and building maintenance needs.
  • Train team members on cleaning techniques and new equipment.
  • Conduct shift briefings and safety meetings.
  • Perform monthly, daily, and annual inspections.
  • Assist with site inventory and maintain storage room levels.
  • Ensure WHIMS and safe work practices are adhered to by the team.
  • Operate floor machinery and perform washroom cleaning, sweeping, mopping, and wall washing duties.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-3 years of event or venue custodial experience.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety is considered an asset.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including mornings, afternoons, and midnight shifts.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
