Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food Service Supervisor to join our team at Mount Alverno Resort and Retreat. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our restaurant, ensuring that our guests receive exceptional service and high-quality food.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Supervise and coordinate the activities of staff who prepare and portion food
    • Train staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures
    • Establish methods to meet work schedules and ensure efficient food preparation
  • Quality Control and Assurance
    • Estimate ingredient and supplies required for meal preparation
    • Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards
    • Address customers' complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner
  • Administrative and Reporting
    • Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage
    • Prepare and submit reports on food service operations
  • Work Environment and Conditions
    • Work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
    • Combine sitting, standing, and walking throughout the workday
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a food service supervisory role
  • Personal Qualities
    • Client focus and excellent oral communication skills
    • Efficient interpersonal skills and flexibility
    • Ability to work as a team player in a dynamic environment
Working Conditions

Our restaurant operates in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. You will be required to work a combination of sitting, standing, and walking throughout the workday.
