About the Role:

The Millcroft Inn & Spa, a Vintage Hotels property, is seeking a skilled Culinary Team Member to join our team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards in food preparation and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and prepare meals and beverages in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensure Team Members have all necessary food items to serve the menu and/or fill up the buffet.
  • Responsible for supervision of and cooking of preparatory cooking of soup stocks and other preliminary preparation of food based on the menu requirements.
  • Act as a team leader with Kitchen Team Members, cooking and setting up the buffet for breakfast/lunch/brunch and for a la carte menu items.
  • Ensure the rotation of food stocks and perform inventory control functions.
  • Check the kitchen function sheets daily to ensure that food items are available and that special item menu and/or buffet requirements are attainable.
  • Ensure that Team Members' lunch is made and delivered to the Team Member restaurant daily.
  • Ensure the kitchen standards are upheld at all times both personally and by team members.

Requirements:

  • Certificate in Cooking through a recognized Culinary Institute with apprenticeship program completed.
  • Experience in a fine dining establishment.
  • Good decision-making ability and above-average oral communication skills.
  • Good safety training and/or knowledge required.
  • Current Safe Food Handler's Certificate.
