Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bus Driver to join our team at Retirement Concepts. As a Bus Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting our residents to various destinations while adhering to all relevant policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transportation Services: Provide safe and reliable transportation services to our residents, adhering to all specifications and details of our Bus Policy and Code of Conduct.
  • Assistance and Support: Offer assistance to recreation staff as needed during outings, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for our residents.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure the bus is up to date with all maintenance and repairs, book appointments at the garage, and pick up/drop off the bus for appointments. All repairs require prior approval from the Recreation Manager or General Manager.
  • Pre-Trip Preparations: Arrive at outings departure location a minimum of 15 minutes prior to departure time, ensuring timely departures and minimizing delays.
  • Post-Trip Procedures: Clean out the interior of the bus following every outing, wiping all touchpoints with antibacterial cleaner and washing the exterior of the bus according to our seasonal cleaning schedule (cost of cleaning would be reimbursed with submitted receipt).
  • Inclement Weather: In the event of inclement weather, contact the Recreation Manager/General Manager to determine whether it is safe to proceed with the outing. If cancellation occurs after the driver is on the property, the driver will be paid for a minimum of 1 hour.
Qualifications
  • Class 4 Driver's License: Possess a valid Class 4 driver's license.
  • Criminal Records Check: Provide proof of an annual criminal records check.
  • G.S.T. Registrant Status: Provide proof of G.S.T. registrant status, where applicable and required by law.
  • Sole Proprietorship or Incorporation: Provide proof of sole proprietorship or incorporation, where applicable and required by law.
  • Personal and Professional Insurance: Provide proof of personal insurance up to $2,000,000 and professional insurance up to $2,000,000, where applicable and required by law.
  • Membership or License Registration: Provide proof of any applicable membership or license registration required by the jurisdiction within which our facility is located, and Workers' Compensation Account Number (WSB in B.C).
