Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Palliative Care team at Health Careers in Saskatchewan. As a Senior Social Worker, you will play a critical role in providing counseling and support to bereaved adults and children who have experienced a recent death loss.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and provide counseling for bereaved adults and children
  • Work as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide direct and indirect support to clients
  • Act as a resource for other professionals for bereavement in the community
  • Provide education and training to staff and community members on bereavement and palliative care
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure a comprehensive and respectful approach to care

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Social Work or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in palliative care or a related field
  • Advanced knowledge and skills in bereavement and palliative care
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with diverse populations and communities
  • Knowledge of the Mental Health Services Act and Health Information Protection Act
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
