Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of early learning opportunities in the Northwest Territories public education system.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the Junior Kindergarten (JK) and Kindergarten (K) programming, as well as supporting the transformation of the Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC) system in the region.

This role requires expertise in early childhood education, curriculum development, and professional learning. The ideal candidate will have a degree in early childhood education and at least three years of experience working in early learning environments, including one year in a school setting.

The Coordinator will work closely with the department and ELCC divisional teams to achieve departmental and divisional goals, including providing professional learning opportunities to early childhood educators.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of early learning opportunities, including JK and K programming
  • Coordinate the transformation of the ELCC system in the Northwest Territories
  • Support the department and ELCC divisional goals, including providing professional learning opportunities
  • Work closely with department and divisional teams to achieve goals and objectives
  • Manage competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
