Occupational Therapy Assistant

About the Opportunity
Under the direction of a program manager and an occupational therapist (OT), you will provide essential therapeutic and technical support in delivering occupational therapy services to Nova Scotia Health clients. You'll work both independently and collaboratively with healthcare professionals and students, ensuring adherence to all Nova Scotia Health policies and procedures.
About You
- You hold a diploma from an accredited community college occupational assistant program, including a minimum of 300 hours of clinical experience.
- You possess Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
- You have a strong understanding of commercially available assistive devices and equipment.
- You are proficient in basic computer skills.
- You are capable of operating and maintaining various appliances and power equipment.
Previous experience working with geriatric populations, frailty, dementia, and patients/clients with physical and/or cognitive impairments is highly valued. Experience with wheelchair fitting and modifications is also an asset. Fluency in other languages, particularly French, is a significant advantage.
Hours
- This is a permanent, part-time (50%) position; 37.5 hours bi-weekly.
Compensation and Incentives
$25.95 Hourly
