About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Industrial Mechanic/Millwright to join our team at HF Sinclair Corporation. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our production processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Installation and Repair: Install, service, and repair a variety of plant equipment, including rotating equipment, pumps, compressors, and steam turbines.
  • Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Troubleshoot equipment failures, implement preventative and predictive maintenance programs, and maintain equipment histories.
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively in a flexible team environment, communicate clearly with all team members, and assist other trades maintenance technicians as required.
  • Special Assignments: Participate in special assignments or tasks assigned by your supervisor, as determined from time to time.
Requirements
  • Certificate of Qualification: Hold a Certificate of Qualification for Millwright, with a Red Seal Certificate of Qualification preferred.
  • Experience: Have basic knowledge in all types of rotating and reciprocating equipment, including pumps, compressors, steam turbines, fans, blowers, and gearboxes. Previous experience in the trade in a related industrial setting is an asset.
  • Skills: Possess strong safety performance, analytical/troubleshooting/decision-making skills, and experience in operating shop equipment, including lathes, vertical milling machines, and radial drills.
Work Environment

Work in a variety of different work environments, both indoors and outdoors, and be exposed to varying weather conditions, dust, dirt, mud, water, and petroleum products. May work in high, precarious places up to 200ft and be required to work in an industrial environment with chemicals, pressure vessels, tanks, steam lines, electricity, loud noise, vibrations, and confined spaces.

Physical Requirements

This job requires some heavy lifting, use of ladders, and working on elevated work sites such as scaffolds and towers. The ability to work in a variety of different work environments, both indoors and outdoors, is essential.
